Homemade flour tortillas

Fresh pressed tortillas straight off the pan will elevate all your tacos nights. Made with simple ingredients and easy to adapt.

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

¾ tsp salt

¼ cup olive oil

1 cup warm water

Instructions:

Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mixed with a spoon and then my hands. Make 12 equal sized balls of dough and let rest for 10 mins covered with a clean kitchen towel.

Using a tortilla press or a rolling pin if you don’t have a press flatten the ball into a tortilla.

On a hot ungreased pan cook the tortilla Until it starts to bubble a bit then flip and cook the other side about the same time. About a minute per side. Stack on a clean kitchen towel and cover to keep warm until use.

A trick with the tortilla press is to cut a ziplock bag in half and use them on the top and bottom of the press to easily remove the tortilla. I’ve read you can also use parchment paper but the ziplock bag definitely helps.
